The growth rate of Bermuda and St. Augustine lawns has really slowed down. This doesn’t mean that we stop watering our lawns, we just water less. Remember that the grass is still alive and needs moisture for survival. If we don’t get rain for a couple of weeks, then water. This goes for the trees and shrubs also. And of course we all know to water in the morning, right?
Stage 3 water restrictions go into effect for the City of Plano on November 5th and November 1st for the City of Allen. Stage 3 means you can only water once every two weeks. I hate to hear of folks getting a call from the water police so check with your city for the latest information
Don’t be in a big hurry to prune back those woody plants. Late December to February is the prime time for most pruning. However, it is a very good time for planting new trees and shrubs.
