Way back in the 60’s Wells Brothers took a 50# bag of the common 16-20-0 agricultural fertilizer and added 12% sulfur to it. Well, as it turned out, Bermuda and St. Augustine grass love this stuff. Next thing you know we are selling 10 tons a weekend. Fast forward to 2006. Smaller yards and water restrictions and we were selling 12 tons a year. Well times change and we try to keep up, so in spring 2014 we took the world famous 16-20-0 w/12%s and had it made in 20# bags instead of the 50# bags. It was a hit with about 1/3 of our customers. The other 2/3 were somewhat unpleased with this evolution and were vocal to say the least. Because we try to meet everyone’s needs, we now carry both the 20# and 50# bags and everyone is happy!
