Our fertilizer bar will be OPEN on March 29th. There is no age limit at our bar but a soil test is almost mandatory. Armed with a detailed soil analysis and the proper nutrients, a garden can grow beyond expectation!
Nutrition is extremely important for optimum plant growth. Generally speaking, most growers use some complete fertilizer to supply nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). These elements are referred to as macronutrients because they are required in relatively large quantities for plant growth and development. Boron (B), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn) are referred to as the micronutrients because they are needed by the plant in much smaller quantities. There are others micronutrients available but due to federal law and others factors they seem to be in short supply. A complete soil test is required for the proper use of these elements.
The items below are priced and sold by the pound. The macronutrients are available in larger quantities.
Macronutrients:
- 46 % Nitrogen (N) – $1.50
- 46% Phosphorus (P) – $1.25
- Potassium (K) w/17 %( S) – $2.40
- 90% Sulfur (S) – $1.00
Micronutrients:
- 10% Boron (B) – $4.00 #
- 50% Iron (Fe) – #1.75 #
- 28% Manganese (Mn) – $2.25 #
- 20% Zinc (Zn) – $2.00
*Trace Mineral Mix – $4.50 #
