I know it seems early but it’s time to think about pre-emergent herbicide (stopping seeds from germinating) for our lawns. I now ask everyone to know the square footage of your lawn. The objective is to apply the correct amount of product on the amount of lawn that you have and keep more money in your pocket. The middle of January to the middle of March is time to apply pre-emergent herbicide.
For the all-natural folks, apply Corn Gluten Meal at a minimum rate of 20#’s per 1,000 square feet minimum. The synthetics include Gallery for the broadleaf weeds and Dimension for the grass weeds. Both are very specific products but can be applied one after the other. Read and follow the directions on the bag for proper application rates.
