The good news in the water department is that we did receive some much needed rain. Bad news is we still need more and are still under the “Stage 3” water restrictions for many of the surrounding communities. I am glad that my doomsday outlook didn’t come to pass but there are still cities talking about going to stage 4 restrictions. This is nothing more than “fear mongering” from our elected officials. Yes, we all need to conserve when we can but when NTMWD (the folks that run the water) looked at stage 3 as the thing to do, then the discussion should be over. Besides, do you think the cities want to take an even bigger hit from the lower water revenues that stage 4 restrictions will mandate?
